Where Autism Meets Potential is an inspiring, practical roadmap for parents searching for a way forward, teachers and caregivers looking for new strategies, and anyone who believes there is more potential in a person than the world may see.
Tia Dealy's book follows her son Trevor's life as he navigates a world that was never built with him in mind—from his harrowing beginning as a micro-premie baby through the education and employment systems Tia was forced to confront when they failed to deliver what the law promised. When there was nowhere left to turn, she developed a project-based transition program from home that helped unlock Trevor’s passion for soap making and opened the door to something neither of them had imagined: Trev's Trades, their award-winning business.
Through Trevor’s journey, Tia shows how challenging limited expectations created an opportunity for her son to build something of his own and discover the confidence and purpose that come from contributing to the world. The book offers practical guidance and ideas for families, educators, doctors, caregivers, and others who want to help young adults with disabilities discover their passion, build on their strengths, and find their own path to a life they deserve.
At its heart, Where Autism Meets Potential is a story of love, family, persistence, and a mother’s determination to build a future for her son that can carry on without her.
Tia’s journey may offer the hope and path you’ve been searching for to help someone you love discover all that's possible in their lives.

Tia Dealy is a mother, educator, consultant, and lifelong advocate for individuals with complex disabilities.
